Each year I go to the Women ETC conference and I leave thinking what a great day.  To have an opportunity to sit and listen to some of the most successful, influential women around the country pioneering innovation, disruptive technology and incredible leadership - its awesome.

Yesterday evening we attended an event at the Federal Reserve Bank held by the Richmond Technology Council – RichTech, www.richtech.com. Finalists for this years RichTech Technology Awards were announced. According to Robby Demeria, the Executive Director of RichTech, more firms were nominated for awards this year than the previous five years the event has been held.

How do you give advice to a job seeker without him/her thinking we as recruiters have ulterior motives. It's no secret that while we help people find jobs, we also earn a fee for our services. Sadly, the latter part of that statement can negatively impact the effectiveness of the first part of that statement. Why is that the case? I have a few potential reasons.
